Our society rules

Welcome to the Skittle Bombers Golf Society! To ensure everyone has a great time on and off the course, we've laid out some simple guidelines. These rules are here to promote fair play, good sportsmanship, and above all, fun amongst all our members. Let's make every game enjoyable!

Respect Each Other On The Putting Green. 

  • Mind the putting line: Never walk on or stand on the imaginary line between another player's ball and the cup.
  • Watch your shadow: Ensure your shadow does not cross over a player’s putting line or block their view.
  • Maintain complete silence: Stand perfectly still and remain quiet while another player is reading or executing their putt.
  • Stand out of sight: Avoid standing directly behind the player or directly behind the hole where your movement could distract them.
  • Mark balls properly: Use a small coin or flat marker to pick up your ball if it sits in someone else’s path.

Be honest and have fun

At the heart of the Skittle Bombers Golf Society is our commitment to honesty and enjoyment. We expect all members to uphold the spirit of the game, play fairly, and always be truthful about their scores and handicaps. Remember, it's about the love of golf and the camaraderie it brings. We encourage everyone to relax, enjoy the competition, and have a good laugh along the way.

Punctuality and payments

To ensure our tournaments and events run smoothly, please make every effort to arrive on time for tee-offs and meetings. Being punctual helps everyone get the most out of their day. Additionally, prompt payment of any society dues, tournament fees, or friendly wagers is essential. We believe in settling debts quickly and without fuss, keeping our society's finances in good order for everyone's benefit.

Dress correctly, be chilled and have fun

While we love a relaxed atmosphere, we do ask members to adhere to generally accepted golf course dress codes – looking the part is half the fun! More importantly, we encourage a chilled-out, friendly vibe on the course. We're all here to escape the daily grind and enjoy some golf with good company. Be prepared to take a joke and share a laugh; it's what being a Skittle Bomber is all about!
