The Battle for the Orange Jacket, 
The sun rose over Toot Hill Golf Club as seven brave members of the legendary Skittle Bombers Golf Society assembled for the biggest day of the year—the McMasters 2026 Champion Golfer.

At stake was the most prestigious prize in amateur golf: the coveted Orange Jacket.

Early favourite Ryan Cooper produced a masterclass, firing a sensational 2-under-par round. It was the golf of a champion... unfortunately for him, it was only good enough for second place. A performance worthy of history, but forever accompanied by the words, "came second lol."

Society Captain Dan McIntosh, playing off a heroic 35 handicap, refused to let numbers define him. Battling every bunker, tree and questionable bounce the course could throw at him, he stood on the 18th needing one final moment of magic. Against all odds, he delivered, sealing victory on the last hole and slipping on the famous Orange Jacket to become the 2026 McMasters Champion.

The McIntosh family was well represented throughout the day. Sam McIntosh battled hard from start to finish, while Luke McIntosh claimed the Nearest the Pin prize with a dart-like tee shot and, alongside Vice Captain Ryan Cooper, finished atop the money leaderboard. Ryan also unleashed the biggest bomb of the day, claiming the Longest Drive title and proving that even if he couldn't win the jacket, he could still outdrive the field.

Then there was Ian "The Nibbler" Osborne. A respectable third place finish couldn't hide the growing whispers around the clubhouse. His habit of nibbling at everyone's toes gave everyone a good laugh, and the committee quietly agreed he might need to be cut before the next Major. 

Making a long-awaited return after two years in the wilderness, Liam Russell dusted off the clubs and reminded everyone why he'd been missed. Rusty? Maybe. Entertaining? Possibly. Welcome back, definitely. 

Finally, newcomer and H2O Supervisor Josh Poland made his Skittle Bombers debut. Calm under pressure, he turned in a solid performance, earning respect from the group and showing plenty of promise. The Orange Jacket may have been out of reach this year, but everyone agreed he'd be one to watch.

As the sun set over Toot Hill, stories grew taller with every pint, handicaps became more suspicious, and Ryan's brilliant two-under somehow became "the best losing round in McMasters history."
But only one name would be engraved on the trophy.
